She is currently seeking an office manager to join her team.  As a super small practice, this position really involves a little bit of everything. We all pitch in to get things done!

Responsibilities include: 

  • “Caretaker” for the practice - the physical space, the people, the patient experience.

  • ­ New Patient & Membership Coordinator: primary responsibility for communicating with and enrolling new patients. Managing ongoing membership plans, including billing.

  • ­ Administering patient charts using our electronic medical record system (Elation)

  • ­ Handling phone calls and patient messages

  • Managing patient scheduling

  • ­ Basic office tasks: checking mail, scanning, faxing, filing documents in medical record.

  • ­ Maintaining a practice policies and procedures manual.

  • ­ Maintaining and improving existing systems (simplify, organize, increase efficiency)

  • ­ Additional responsibilities to grow with the position

 
The ideal candidate will:  

  • ­ have experience working in a medical practice or similar environment, with knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy rights.

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • ­Experienced with Google Docs

  • ­Capable of learning new software programs quickly

  • ­Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (including grammar and spelling)

  • ­Reliable computer hardware and internet access

  • Formal medical assistant training would be a bonus.

  • Willing to commute to Stillwater, NY with reliable transportation

Covid Specific

  • Proof of vaccination will be required

  • Proper mask wearing will be required

  • Duties will include extra cleaning/sanitation routines

The main responsibilities for the job will require coming to the office 3-4 half days per week.

Office hours will primarily be in the mornings between 8-12, with more flexible afternoon hours. Hours would work well for a parent with children in school.

Some of the job can and will be done remotely, and thus you will need your own secure computer and phone.  

Hours will vary, but the position will likely average 15 hours per week and could increase to 20-25 hours per week. Compensation will start at $13-­17/hr depending on experience and skills, with opportunity for rapid advancement. You will begin as an independent contractor for an initial trial period, and transition to employee status if hired long term.
